Oregon goes to Stillwater, Oklahoma, to face off against a brand-new team: the Cowboy squad that got beaten to the ground by Oregon last year. Head coach for the Cowboys, Eric Morris, brought what feels like his entire roster with him from North Texas this offseason, including gunslinger Drew Mestemaker. Duck fans don't need to be worried about Mestemaker, but certainly should not overlook him.
Two weeks ago, many thought that this game could be a serious trap game for Oregon, and during the Boise State game, that narrative continued to grow a bit. However, OSU really struggled against Tulsa and did not look like a complete team whatsoever.
Lanning was not pleased with how Oregon played last week, so a fast and hard start for the Ducks should be what is expected heading into this one.
During this game, I would expect Oregon to focus more on trying to establish the run game, very similar to what they did last year.
